Shakti Rajwani (He/him)
Shakti Rajwani is an international student from Singapore and a army veteran. After completing his military service as a section commander, where he led soldiers to ensure operational success, Shakti moved to Washington State to pursue his education. He enrolled at Green River College, where he became deeply involved in community service initiatives, such as the Tiny Homes Project, which built small homes for Seattle’s homeless population. Shakti also volunteered as an English as a Second Language (ESL) tutor for refugees at the Refugee Resettlement Office, working with displaced refugees to help them assimilate to the U.S. He was also president of his college’s Rotaract club and Asian Student Union, where he worked members of his school and community to address sensitive issues such as domestic violence and asian student representation.
Currently, Shakti is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science at UC Berkeley. At Berkeley, he works as a legislation and research assistant in the ASUC Office of the Transfer Representative, focusing on policies that foster inclusivity for transfer students. Shakti is also a member of the United Nations Association at Berkeley, where he aims to start a DeCal in raising awareness for the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Passionate about justice and equity, Shakti’s unique perspective, shaped by his experiences in Southeast Asia and the U.S., fuels his aspiration to become an attorney. His long-term goal is to advocate for marginalized communities, providing legal support to immigrants, refugees, and those facing systemic inequities.
