Bio/CV: 

Ricarda Suarez is a first-generation college student at UC Berkeley, pursuing a degree in Political Science with an emphasis on Chicanx Studies. Raised between Santa Rosa, California, and Guanajuato, Mexico, her lived experiences inspire her dedication to advocating for social equity, labor rights, and economic justice. In the summer of 2024, Ricarda participated in the Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project Comcast Fellowship, interning in Assembly Member Mike Gipson’s office.

Her professional experience extends to supporting immigrant communities as a Public Service Intern with the East Bay Sanctuary Covenant, where she assists asylees with citizenship preparation and voter registration. On campus, Ricarda mentors high school students through Unidad en Educación, conducts policy research with Frontera, and contributes to archival projects amplifying Chicanx and Latinx voices. Her advocacy work also includes grassroots campaigns with the North Bay Organizing Project, focusing on farmworker safety and youth leadership.

Ricarda aspires to work in the California State Capitol, advancing policies that empower marginalized communities and reflect the voices of underrepresented populations.
