Bio/CV:

Noor Alramadan is a driven, first-generation third-year studying media studies with a concentration in media law and policy and a minor in education. As the daughter of immigrant parents in a dual-heritage household from Nicaragua and Iraq, her upbringing has shaped her values toward education and human rights advocacy. She is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in higher education and professional spaces, grounded by her experiences growing up in Chula Vista and attending public K-12 schools.

Her passion for public service is rooted in her experience as a longtime Girl Scout in San Diego. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she completed the prestigious Gold Award Project that addressed educational barriers for English as a Second Language (ESL) students through virtual reading sessions. On campus, she has committed to executive boards in Bridges Mixed at Berkeley, the Iraqi Student Union, and the Associated Students of the University of California.

Noor is grateful for her experience as a 2024 Cal-in-Sacramento Fellow, where she interned at the California Department of Education. As a Diversity and Entrepreneurship Fellow, she also contributed to research focused on small businesses owned by women of color entrepreneurs in California. She is eager to expand her professional experiences in Washington D.C. in the UCDC Spring 2025 cohort. She is honored to attend as a Matsui Center Washington Fellow. In the summer, Noor looks forward to continuing her interest in government and working closer to her long-term career aspiration of being a leader in public service as a Schaeffer Fellow.
