Job title:

Department:
2025 Cal-in-Sacramento
Bio/CV:

Kenny Kutter (He/him)

Kenny is a driven, passionate second year student studying Political Science with an emphasis in Quantitative Methods & Empirical Analysis, and is also pursuing a minor in Data Science. Kenny grew up in Moreno Valley, located in the heart of Southern California's Inland Empire. He grew up in a home with a diverse cultural background, his mother having immigrated from Indonesia and his father working as a teacher. Growing up in a predominately low-income, minority community like Moreno Valley, Kenny witnessed first hand the power that governments truly have to shape communities like his.

Since arriving in Berkeley, Kenny has taken these experiences and sought to work for communities like his. His freshman year, he worked as a Policy Research Associate in the office of ASUC Senator Andrea Jimenez, working on critical student legislation on topics such as undocumented student representation and diversity equity training requirements. He has also gone on to join organizations like the Berkeley Southeast Asian Caucus, working to bridge the institutional gap faced by marginalized, underrepresented communities like the Southeast Asian community.

Looking towards the future, Kenny is interested in one day entering a career in public service, researching public policies to address critical issues facing our state. He looks forward to using his time as a Cal-in-Sacramento fellow to further explore this interest and uplift the perspectives of communities like his in these policy spaces.
