Audrey Lee, a first generation college student, is in her third year of pursuing a BS in Business Administration. Her interest in government and public service stems from her background as a first-generation U.S. citizen from an immigrant family that ventured into entrepreneurship. As the primary English speaker in her household, Audrey played a pivotal role in navigating various legal and governmental aspects of her family’s business. This early exposure to regulations, licensing, and compliance sparked her interest in the structures that govern lives and how they can be improved to support small businesses. Audrey views public service as a commitment to creating a government that provides everyone an equal opportunity to succeed.
During her internship at the U.S. Department of Defense, within the Major Procurement Fraud Field Office, she conducted research and investigations regarding contract compliance. This experience solidified her passion for public policy and the law and inspired her to pursue a career in government.
Audrey aspires to attend law school and leverage her undergraduate business degree with a JD to build a career in the public sector. Her ultimate goal is to ensure that government policies create equitable opportunities for all, with a focus on empowering small businesses and marginalized communities.
