Isabel Cholbi is a UC Berkeley senior studying Political Economy. Her interests mainly lie in labor law and policy. She would like to pursue a career in public service where she can advocate for the rights of American workers and fight to address the injustices of the US labor system. In fall 2021, Isabel spent a term abroad at the University of Barcelona, which has given her an international perspective on government and society.
Isabel has previously interned with government offices and non-profits, most recently with Rep. Barbara Lee (CA-13), where she managed constituent immigration and government services casework. On campus at Cal, Isabel has participated in research through URAP and Social Sciences Research Pathways, where she worked with teams gathering data on class divisions in the US, as well as archival research on US infrastructure and land-use history. She is also a proud member of the UC Women’s Chorale. Outside of Cal, Isabel is a debate coach at El Cerrito High School. She is excited to participate in Cal-in-Sac and to use this opportunity to develop her public service career.
