Tristan Ismael Soto Moreno (he/him)

Tristan Soto Moreno, a fourth-year student from Bodega, California, is a first-generation, low-income student of Mexican descent pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. With a strong commitment to social justice, K-12 education, and immigration advocacy, he aims to create positive change for marginalized communities.

Tristan participated in the first cohort of Solidarity Spring through UC Berkeley’s Labor Center, attending protests and workshops to advocate for essential worker rights. His dedication to education was evident in his roles as a Pathways Coaching Coordinator at Stiles Hall and a College Corps Fellow. At Stiles Hall, he created academic and socio-emotional support plans for elementary students while managing 20 UC Berkeley volunteers. Through College Corps, he assisted fifth-grade teachers, provided individualized academic support, and enhanced learning through field trips and interactive activities. As Activism Co-Chair for Frontera at Berkeley, Tristan led efforts to educate the campus on immigration policy and organized impactful events, including a Know Your Rights workshop.

Currently, Tristan is broadening his global perspective through studying abroad in Spain, Argentina, Chile, and now Italy, immersing himself in diverse societies and political histories. These international experiences, combined with his leadership and communication skills, fuel his goal of attending law school to become an immigration lawyer dedicated to uplifting immigrant and refugee communities.
