Bio/CV:

Annie Koruga (They/Them)

Annie Koruga is a senior at UC Berkeley studying political science. They have an interest in both constitutional and labor law, and intend to pursue a Juris Doctor after graduating from UC Berkeley. At Berkeley, Annie teaches a course on The History of Free Speech at Berkeley, serves as the team captain of the UC Berkeley competitive speech team, and is completing their senior honors thesis which examines the impact of agency head selection methods on law enforcement violence.

Last summer, Annie interned at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission as a Schaeffer Fellow. There they interviewed parties alleging employment discrimination, drafted charges of discrimination, and wrote investigative memorandums. This experience deepened their passions for labor law and their belief that the law can be an effective tool for achieving just outcomes.

Outside of the classroom, Annie is active in politics and governance spaces. They are proud to be an Executive Board Member of the California Democratic Party and the Second Vice Chair of the Young Democrats of America Disability Caucus. Closer to home, Annie is the Vice Chair of the Bay Area Rapid Transit’s Accessibility Commission and a member of the Alameda County Coalition for Fair Redistricting.

They are excited to spend the summer engaging with law and policy in Sacramento.
